Join HDC and South King County Housing and Homelessness Partners (SKHHP) for a learning opportunity on permanent supportive housing. You will come out of the event with a deepened understanding of what permanent supportive housing is, what it takes to assemble a supportive housing project and why it is the critical solution to homelessness.
You will also learn more about local efforts including the success and impact of SKCs first permanent supportive housing program, Thea Bowman Apartments. Last year, the project opened its doors amid a pandemic and consists of supportive housing units serving veterans and individuals who had experienced homelessness. Building on this success is Burien's Affordable Housing Demonstration Program that allows up to five projects, one of which is required to be affordable to households earning up to 30% of area median income.
Join us for a great learning opportunity in the community.
