The newly renovated Boulevard Park Library opens Saturday, May 18! In 1943, the Boulevard Park LIbrary was the first to join KCLS> The original 12-by-18-foot library cost just over $350 to build and held a collection of 568 books. Seventy-six years later, the newly renovated library will re-open to the public as the final project in the $172 million Capital Bond, approved by voters in 2004. The new space features a flexible meeting room with slide glass walls, spacious study rooms, new exterior windows, all new fixtures and furnishings, and art by Barbara Earl Thomas.
