About the Success Foundation:As the Chamber's 501(c)(3) charitable enterprise, the Success Foundation promotes and improves the economic development opportunities of the Southside and its communities through education, workforce, and community development.
The Success Foundation promotes and improves the economic development opportunities of the Southside and its communities. It does so by participating in projects and conducting research related to education, workforce, and community development. As a charitable enterprise of the Chamber, the Success Foundation is dedicated to the success of our region in Southwest King County.
Success means a lot of different things to different people, but for the Chamber, it means that the people that live, work and enjoy the businesses, communities, and amenities in the Southside are invited to create and define their own success stories. Our community should be recognized as the place where businesses, residents, and community partners are able to live their best lives. With poverty rates in our community exceeding the state average, we know we have our work cut out for us as we focus on raising the tide for all in our region.
We also know that we can’t do this work alone. Luckily, there are so many ways for community members to participate!

Our Land Acknowledgment:
As we gather, we respectfully acknowledge that our event is taking place on occupied Coast Salish land and that Seattle Southside Chamber is on the homelands of the Duwamish people. We pay respect to Coast Salish Elders past and present and extend that respect to their descendants and to all Indigenous people.
Why do we recognize the land?
To recognize the land is an expression of gratitude and appreciation to those whose territory you reside on and a way of honoring the Indigenous people who have been living and working on the land from time immemorial. It is important to understand the long-standing history that has brought you to reside on the land and to seek to understand your place within that history. Land acknowledgments do not exist in a past tense or historical context: colonialism is a current ongoing process, and we need to build the mindfulness of our present participation. It is also worth noting that acknowledging the land is Indigenous protocol.
